WDW has some of the best food, created by award-winning chefs, and is presented with pixie dust and Bubble magic.
Each resort hotel has its own quick service, casual dining, fancy dining, and bars/lounges. You can see all menus on the App.
You do not need to be staying at a resort hotel to eat in their restaurants.
You do need a reservation to be able to get on to that hotel's property, unless you take some other form of transportation in (that is not your personal car).
QUICK SERVICE:
- a "walk up" order at the counter-style option
- also uses mobile order
- at hotel resorts, this looks like a cafeteria
TABLE SERVICE:
- sit-down restaurants, with specific menus based on theming
- found in the parks at a few locations
- most moderate and deluxe hotel resorts have 1 sit-down location on property
- reservations are recommended, some offer waitlists
CHARACTER DINING:
- meals featuring Disney characters with themed menus
- breakfast is likely buffet style
- these tend to be pricier because you get characters for personal, at your table interactions
FINE/SIGNATURE DINING:
- upscale, higher-priced dining with specialized menus and dress codes
- depending on the location, food is served by the course/plate, or family style on platters for the table to share
* * FAMILY-STYLE BUFFET:
The wording on the menu is "all-you-care-to-enjoy". You can ask for more of all the food, or any item by itself. Soft drinks/coffee tend to be included. Alcoholic beverages will be added on to you bill. You cannot take away left overs.
* * FOOD ALLERGIES:
The My Disney Experience App has menus and food allergy information. If you are at a sit-down dining experience, you should let your server know of allergies, and they will have the cooking staff accommodate you.
The Disney Dining Plan (is it worth it?)
Besides ordering meals to go, or grabbing snacks at will, the Dining Plan is also available.
However take caution.
This is meant for bigger families staying for longer than a weekend, and you have to eat expensively, to make it work. Meaning: you will order the big ticket items, a snack multiple times a day, sometimes big/fancy drinks, and have three large meals a day.
For some, this may not be your style of meal structure. It is certainly a lot of food that you then carry in your belly, on rides throughout the day… in the warm Florida sun…
