You need the app, regardless of personal convictions. WDW runs off of this.
You will set up a profile and add in the credit card to be used (for mobile order, Lightning Lane purchases, holding a reservation...).
** NOTE ** this app "crashes" often, sometimes on a daily basis. This normal due to the high traffic of users.
If you have any issues or were in the middle of something and you feel panicky, you can go to any Guest Relations blue tent around the parks. Those Cast Members will sort it all out.
Most of the time, the app crashing will be just fine, if you close and climb back in.

Within the + button on the App home screen, either choose Buy Tickets OR Make or Modify Park Reservations.
If you don’t already have set days for your tickets, or are buying on the fly, you will use the app.
You can use the walk-up window, prior to park entry, but why bother?

Within the + button on the App home screen, choose View Wait Times & Showtimes.
This feature is "The Tip Board".
Change the Park at the top, toggle between Attractions and Dining.
** NOTE ** If you do not have Lightning Lanes, and choose to get into this upon perusal, you will be prompted to purchase.
This selection is the same as going from your "hamburger menu".

Click on the Location marker icon, along that bottom row of icons.
Change the Park or Area at the top.
You can toggle between wait times, dining, attractions. This is similar to the Tip Board, but you can only view.

Within the + button on the App home screen, choose Merchandise Mobile Checkout.
Location services needs to be active, but you will choose the Park, then the store. Scan things with the phone, then purchase.
You have to get scanned on your way out the door at a marked location. Yes, you can grab a bag, and sensor tags are removed.
** NOTE ** This is a hit-or-miss for me on saving time. If there are no lines in a store, I prefer the Cast Member to help me.
I have never been annoyed with the length of time I “wait in line” at a store check out.

This is a second hub for all of the previously mentioned features.
Notice "Hotel Reservations" in that list. If you are staying "on property", your information will be here, as well as another link to the Bus Schedule.
You can use this section for your Mobile Keycard as well (if you choose).
